I had breast cancer 10 years ago. I am now having discussions to have a second mastectomy to reduce my risk of the cancer returning (and the thought terrifies me!) My sister also had breast cancer. It returned in her stomach 6 years after her first diagnosis. Both of us had all the lymph nodes extracted as well as mastectomys and neither of us had any follow up treatments apart from Tamoxifen for 5 years.
