About Gram62

Hello I'm a 55 year old gentleman and I was unexpectedly diagnosed with lung cancer in end of November 17 after losing a lot of weight and was getting a ct scan for ischemic colitis and the surgeon wanted to ct scan me from upper torso one week later I recieved a letter telling me I had a shadow in my left lung.after all the test it was confirmed as lung cancer,I was a bit bamboozled as I never had any systems to indicate I had a lung problem.i was taken into Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank on 19th Dec and operated on the 20th.My operation was done by keyhole surgery and all went well,I had a quick recovery and was home on the 23rd Dec,but was back in on 25th December with surgical empiricisma but was lucky and didn't need anything drastic done and was only observed the swelling went down and was released on my 55th birthday the 27th December..I've had my follow-up appointments with my surgeon and he said all went good and I didn't need chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment as the test results came back ok,and will be getting follow up tests just to keep an eye on things,I'm now back to myself again and go walking with my little sprocker spaniel called Bella.still I consider myself one lucky gentleman for if they hadn't don't the full upper torso ct scan I would never I had cancer and it would have just got worse as time went on.i now visit the MAGGIE centre in the forth valley region, and that brought me out of the depression I was suffering post ok,and would advise anyone who has cancer or looks after a person with cancer and has a MAGGIE centre near them go visit them, you may walk in sad,but you'll walk out with a smile on your face. .
