Hi
I'm a 62 year old guy living with my wife on the South Coast. Last September I was driving home from work , talking on the hands-free to my wife, when my voice started to become hoarse. Naturally I thought it was the beginning of a cold but after having it nearly two weeks a trip to the GO started a process which eventually proved to be Thyroid cancer which had metastasized to my lungs.
In December I underwent a total Thyroidectomy and level 6 neck disection. Although the pathology indicated Papillary cancer my surgeon was alarmed at the aggression and it was decided to offer me 30 sessions of radiotherapy .
