My husband Paul was diagnosed in November 2013 with incurable LUNG CANCER, what a roller coaster ride have we been on this has been the hardest years of my life he is 51 and we have been married nearly 30 years. It was only by chance that they found the cancer as Paul hadn't been poorly or any signs other than tiredness. He started chemotherapy in January 2014 Carboplatin and pemetrexed after the first treatment had to change to Gematabine as the liver wasn't happy Then had a blood clot in the lung in February 2014 treatment continued finishing in May 2014. In June he underwent 10 sessions of radiotherapy. Then in January 2015 had a pericardial Effusion which they drained 1.5 litres of fluid and cytology was positive. Followed by a DVT of the right leg. In June 2016 he started the NIVOLUMAB the new immunotherapy after the scan had shown his cancer had spread to his abdomen so had 8 sessions of radiotherapy then was in and out of The Christies as was going downhill rapidly to find he had had 2 strokes. Had too have a stent fitted for a narrowing of the oesophagus but it was only in for a day as it was so painful, so today we have seen the oncologist and they will scan him in 2 weeks and then hopefully start the original treatment again. It's heartbreaking to see him so poorly it breaks my heart. He is just skin and bones
