Alfred is aged 61 and born in the United Kingdom. Approximately 8-years, ago a diagnosis of advanced metastatic prostate cancer stage 4 was handed down to him unexpectedly, untimely and unwontedly. Having gone through the trials and tribulations of this disease I am now a survivor of this disease, not someone who has given in or up as I continue to live with this enemy within my body". As time progressed I realised that I needed to relate my story and felt it was imperative that my voice is heard, therefore, I volunteered as an ambassador as well as a member on a number of steering groups within CRUK. In July 2019 I was named Ambassador of the Year at the Cancer Research UK Flame of Hope awards which pay tribute to the extraordinary achievements of volunteers across the UK.,...As I continue to beat the odds, I feel that I need to further share my personal experiences with others who are going through similar journeys and experiences.
