About Chezzer

2022 Saw me facing my 34 year old daughter’s aggressive cancer diagnosis. A double mastectomy, chemo, radiotherapy & the gentic results of BRCA2 followed which left us as a family drained  so when my own “invitation” to a mammogram arrived I never thought life would throw the family another cancer diagnosis. I’m lucky & I know it. Cancer caught early, due to daughters genetic results I chose a double mastectomy ( I do not have the BRCA 2 gene). A few post surgery hiccups followed but after 3 more operations I am now 5 months into my 2nd set of expanders. As a( in my words ) minor cancer case I felt you don’t always get the support after care or feel you can take up valuable time as so many people need support. The side effects of taking Letrozole, although not as bad as some, have , are still quite challenging & life changing. HRT eliminated all the flushes & aches but obviously that’s a big No No now. So hot flushes , aching joints, hazy recall brain , extreme tiredness ,gain of appetite later, I’ve joined this forum a year on from my first surgery, for support, advice & a feeling of security.  Thank you
