Diagnosed with endometrial cancer in March 2023 at the grand age of 31. Treatment consisted of a full hysterectomy, oophorectomy and 27 sessions of mixed radiotherapies. All clear given in December 2023! Originally graded at Grade 2, Stage 1b then regraded after the op at a Grade 3 Stage 2!
Also, wife to cancer survivor. Husband was diagnosed in January 2023 with testicular cancer at the grand age of 36, a whole 9 weeks before my diagnosis! His treatment consisted of an orchidectomy. All clear given in April 2023, 2 weeks after my diagnosis!
Fertility taken away in one foul swoop! Now suffering with depression and anxiety! Constantly reminded of everything when i look in the mirror and see the huge 30cm scar down my stomach! Had to leave my child care career after working hard to get up the ladder for 16yrs and now working part time in an admin role as I physically dont have the energy to do anything else!
Talking 100% helps, especially to those who have been through it! Not sure if it can be classed as a positive that ive been in the position of being the wife of someone to cancer as well as being a survivor of cancer myself but i feel it does put me in a good position to able to talk to others from both sides of it all!
