I am am 70 years old and had calcifications in my right breast which was first seen on a mammogram and was told they were not a problem. In 2017 I was recalled when theQCC did an audit and were concerned that a biopsy hadn’t been done. In December 2017 over two years later my calcifications were found to be malignant. I subsequently had a mastectomy and cancer was found in the tissue so the decision to have a mastectomy was a good call in the circumstances
I have had a reconstruction and the surgeon who took my case on has given me hope for a future
