This is me now March 2019, nice grey hair NOT... Diagnosed Jan 2018 with Oesophageal cancer. It was too large to operate so had 2 sessions of chemo to try shrink it, chemo was not too bad, and it did shrink, lucky for me, as if not no Op and palliative care.
Big thanks to my great Surgeon and her team. Later was to have another 4 chemo sessions, but only had 2 as it was sooo bad,,, CT showed no cancer in Oct 2018. So now still trying to learn to eat,,, lost soo much weight,,,, for 3 yrs i had been at slimming world, i was a size 20/22 at one point,, and in Dec 2018 i hit my 3 stone target, yay 3 stone gone and wearing size 14/16... I now wear 10/12 and 14 depending on the make,,,and at last seems im stable,,was a big worry, as thoughts of being fed by tubes,, if i didnt get to eat.
Still problems, eating,, but can get some things on now,, still no meat, but pasta, is ok now,, still not rice, or salad, or fruit,, hence eat rubbish, causes the runs,, so they now say i have BAM,
Have powders for this, and it helps,,, like my slim size,, dont want be fat again,, i would love to be able to eat,,,my stomach is not in my chest so will never eat like before,,,like those with gastric bands,,,
But im still here for now,,, fingers crossed, this cancer normally comes back within 5 yrs,, but many i seen , still here 10 and 15 yrs later,, so im hoping im one of them, not ready to go as yet...
