Hi, I'm 59 and this is my second fight with Breast Cancer.
2 yrs ago I had DCIS and invasive stage 1 which resulted in a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy then 15 sessions of RT.
Back in June I noticed distortion of my nipple and a hard flat area to one side. I was diagnosed with recurrence and within 2 weeks of biopsy had a full mastectomy and lymph clearance. Turned out to be 3cm triple negative tumour. Now about to start chemo with FEC-T and Carboplatin.
I'm scared, I have 3 grown children and 3 grand children and I plan to be around for much more fun as I watch them grow. I have a wonderful partner and a great team of professionals looking after me but still can't help being a tad scared of what is to come and the long term effects on my body.
I want to return to work ASAP after my treatment but know I have to allow my body go heal, in just an impatient patient I suppose
