DOING WHAT HAS TO BE DONE.

Good morning/afternoon/evening to everyone.

Perhaps the wordings in the above might not be as such.

I am a 69 man, who like most at my age has suffered the loss of family members due to cancers.

I feel it's my duty to raise as much money as possible to help the future & assist in getting rid of this horrible disease.

Over the years now from my local pub I hold a Cancer Research UK  day.

This involves raffles-tombola-auction, local bands playing all day, BBQ. Haird cutting.

Every year we are raising more & more. I make up the weekend with a sponsored walk on the Saturday followed by the fundraising for all on a Sunday in August.

Although I organise these events it's a group effort

Up to November 2024 we have raised over £23,000 over a 3 year period.

Now it's growing.

Along with my w/end efforts, I have now introduced fun canal walks. Walking over 20 miles. Moustache growing in November. Yes Sir/ Captain.

Selling of badges in my local community centre and Sainsbury's just to raise some extra funding & show awareness.

I have no plans to give what I'm doing up.

I'm involved

It's no test

It's a mission.

To all the young & to the old

To the suffering to the dying

We will help you as much as humanity allows us to

This is one match we will win

Every year on Facebook I have a giving page.

I have a local printer who somehow finds the time to print posters etc.

The shops & businesses here in Hemel Hempstead are amazing .

The locals.

The Walkers

The runners.

My hairdressers

My landlord and staff

You see ! Everyone is touched

It's no problem-It's an honour.

My family

ALL WE CAN ASK FOR IS SMILES OF RECOVERY

TEARS OF HAPPINESS

A TIGHT HAND TO HOLD ON TOO.

WOBBLEY BOB.

Remembering our loved ones ️

Forever

  • Hi Wobbley,

Your fundraising activities sound absolutely amazing. It must be a lot of work to organise all this - this effort is hugely appreciated by all at CRUK, and especially by those you are helping.

It's lovely to hear the range of activities you organise - this sounds like a lot of fun, and by the sounds of it a real community effort with all the people that are involved.

Thank you for sharing this here - it is really lovely to read. We are wishing you well with your continued events and fundraising - you are doing a wonderful thing.

    Best wishes,

    Ben
