Muddy 5K Race for Life - Suddenly Become VERY Personal

Hello Everyone!

I'm 25 next week and in July I'm taking part in the Muddy 5K Race for Life. I have a few reasons for wanting to do it but having suddenly found myself awaiting phone calls and scans to see if I have cancer myself. I now have even more reason than before to do this.

My fiance's aunt has survived cancer, his Grandad is currently fighting bladder cancer, my Grandad passed away from cancer and now I'm waiting to see if I have Colon Cancer. I haven't told anyone about my ongoing problems and cancer scare so I'm not including that in my fundraising just yet, Until it's either confirmed or debunked I won't be telling anyone outside of my family ( my fiance and Mum).

Just wanted to share my story and reasons for why I'm doing the Race for Life :)

  • Hi GothMamma,

It certainly sounds like you have a lot of motivation for this - I'm sorry to hear you've been through quite a bit already and that you're dealing with the uncertainty of waiting for further information also. I hope it's not long for you to wait to find out more.

Thank you for taking on this challenge - your fundraising and efforts will make a big difference. I hope that all goes well with the event for you and any training and fundraising along the way.

We are always here for support on the forum if ever you need it, and I hope that it is useful for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
