Swollen lymph under armpit?

Hey all,

I suffer with anxiety and i'm waiting for my GP app on 21st december

I discovered the 'lymph node' when i had a really bad cough and cold about 6 months ago. it is under the arm but more on the upperside of my breast if that makes sense- its best felt when my arm is down opposed to up.

It is moveable easily and it is shaped like a bean- im struggling to determine if it is 'rubbery'or not, it doesnt feel HARD but it doesnt feel soft.
It is also quite hard to actually feel (others have tried to feel it and havent been able to)

Just wanting some re-assurance really as Google obviously just says Lymphoma and i'm panicking!

  • Welcome to the forum Essence2021 although I'm sorry to read what's troubling you.

    As many of our members have found out, Dr Google is not the best person to consult when symptoms appear as they only tend to give the worse case scenarios and increase anxiety so if you can, do try to stay away from them until you find out more.

    I know the 21st will seem really far off just now but if you're able to keep busy and distracted it will help time to pass more quickly whilst you wait. Hopefully our community will offer their support and advice to you soon but in the meantime we're thinking of you and wishing you all the best with your appointment.

    Just thought Id update to say I went to GP and he said he is not concerned about the node as it is moveable and not hard like a malignant node he is really confident it is just a node that has come up from a previous infection.

    I am however having blood tests on Wednesday next week he said just as a precaution so obviously I am still panicking  

     

    Hopefully everything's fine with the bloods, like I say I have no other symptoms at all so bloods hopefully be normal.
