MRI results-changes to breast tissue

I have had my MRI results back after abnormal mammogram. When I walked in there were 3 people on the room and I was soooo scared as I thought bad news. However, no cancer was found on my scan. There are changes to breast tissue on both sides and they are going to biopsy both sides next week to be sure there isn't anything hidden. So I am taking that as good news for now. Still a bit shaky. The consultant said that my chances of bad news on my biopsies is low. Anyone else had breast tissue changes biopsied? I am 44 btw. I am not as worried as before but still apprehensive but I think that is normal? I'm not worried about the biopsies next week, just take that in my stride.

  • Hello Scaredycat,

This certainly sounds like encouraging news that no cancer was found on your scan. It's good that they are being thorough though and doing a biopsy on both sides just to make sure there isn't anything. It's completely normal though to be a bit shaky and apprehensive still and you will probably only get a sense of relief when all this is over. It's promising that the consultant has said that your chances of bad news on your biopsies are low.

I hope that you will hear from other members of the forum who have had their breast tissue changes biopsied and that they will come and share their story with you.

Best of luck for next week for your biopsies and fingers crossed you get your results soon and that everything turns out fine for you.
