Referred for a scan

Hey, not sure I should be posting here but I've had this strange lump in my neck (it's not round, but more long).

I've just been to see the doctor and she's referred me for an urgent scan. She's not sure what it is.

has anyone else had anything like this?

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a lump. You've done exactly the right thing in contacting your GP and it sounds like they are being cautious in referring you for an ultrasound to get it checked.
It's important to remember that there can be many non-cancerous causes for lumps but the important thing is to see your GP so that any appropriate tests or referrals can be arranged.
Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and you will get some reassurance.
