Growth in kidney

Hi everyone, 

I'm just posting to see if anyone is in the same position as me. 

In the last 4 months I've had several uti's but the last time I had symptoms but no infection but there was blood in my urine. For weeks I had terrible stomach pains and pain under both my ribs.

Got referred to urology went up got ultrasound and camera into bladder. Bladder looks good but found a cyst or growth in my kidney. I've been referred up for a ct scan. This was 2 weeks ago and I'm waiting on the appointment coming in.

I'm quite worried this could be something serious as I'm in so much pain both stomach and under ribs also still blood in my urine.

Has anyone been in this situation and what was there outcome please?

    I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health problems.

    I think that most of our members here will understand how difficult this period of uncertainty can be whilst waiting for tests and results. The unknown can be a scary prospect to face and add to that you're still dealing with the symptoms you've been experiencing, it's natural to feel anxious. 

    Has the hospital said how long you may have to wait for your CT scan? Do give them a call if you've not heard anything next week. They may be able to give you some information about when you will have an appointment or even offer you a short notice cancellation if one is available.

    I am just literally starting out on a similar journey unfortunately.  Same thing, blood in urine.  My doctor has referred me to hospital on the 2 week pathway (which always strikes fear).  I have been given a telephone appointment for next Friday.  Have been told by GP I will probably have scans and camera to look in my bladder.  I also get pain under my ribs, lower back and left side of tummy.  I am absolutely terrifed.  Hope all is well with you.

    I will give them a call next week if I don't hear any news via post for my scan. I think it's just the not knowing that stresses me a bit.

    I tried asking my doctor but they have said that nothing is back from urology. You would think it would be quicker than this at sending the info to your doctor.

    I will let you know how I get on and thank you for your help.

     Sending you lots of love Mags!   I have something similar going on right now, although my scans haven't flagged anything in my kidneys. I do have the abdominal pain (since Aug) and trace blood in my urine too, with borderline UTI results all the time.  It's very frustrating and just wanted to reach out with solidarity.  All the best x

    Thank you for posting I'm sorry you are going through this too. I hope when you go you don't get the same as me and they find something in your kidney.

    I am still waiting on word coming for me to go for my scan just wish it would hurry up so I know what I'm dealing with before Xmas.

    The consultant hasn't sent any info to my doctor yet so can't even dicuss anything with them.

    I really hope all goes well next Friday and they can put your mind at rest right away.

    Hi I really hope you get news about your results sending you love and everything crossed for you. 

    I'm still waiting on my scan date but will let you know if I get word. Don't know. How long it's taking with our hospital for urgent referrals for ct scans.
