Breast cyst?

Hi all.

ive been searching through here since I was first referred to the breast clinic in October.

Had my first appointment on the 5th of November, had ultrasound and had the cyst that was found drained. Within 24 hours, it had completely refilled to the same size it was before the appointment.

went back to my GP and was reffered back.
had my appointment today, again, ultrasound and she tried to drain as much as she could but it was so thick, like wallpaper paste, as the dr said, she drained as much as she could and also took biopsy. She also watched as the cyst refilled its self!
I go back on the 14th for results. Anyone had anything silimar and it be a good outcome?

im only 25 with 2 young kids so as you can imagine, it's a huge weight!

thank you all so much x

Hopefully some of our members who have contended with similar will share their experiences and advice with you soon but whilst you wait I just wanted to share this article I've found on how to cope with waiting for news as it has some good tips and advice on staying calm during anxious times such as these.

We're thinking of you Becca and will have our fingers crossed for good news on the 14th.

  • Hi there.  I seem to suffer with breast cysts as well.  Since my first mammogram 4 years ago at 50 I have always been recalled back to breast clinic for re-assessment.  My last mammogram was 2 years ago and I was called back again.  Another cyst that was drained.  I think I've now got another one that feels like a smooth pea in my left (where one was previously drained).  Trouble is this time I've got a swelling in my left armpit too.  Not a lump but just swollen so GP now referred me again and urgently.  It's very much 'here we go again'.  If it gives any reassurance at all then my experience is yes, cysts can keep returning.  When mine were drained the fluid looked different each time but Dr said ok and I didn't need a biopsy.  If im honest im worried they've missed something despite my mammograms.  To be recalled EVERY time suggests to me that something looked wrong.  It's a worry and just before Xmas too!
