We have had a few discussions on the forum about this and back in April a member found out the wait was 4- 6 weeks. However, I've just found this post from last month by a member who works in a GP surgery in Glasgow and they have said an urgent referral should be two weeks. 

Hopefully more of our Glaswegian members who are currently going through this process will let you know how they're getting on soon but in the meantime, I hope this information we have about urgent referrals will help put your mind at ease whilst you wait.

Fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and everything will be o.k.

I saw my gp on 23rd Nov and am still waiting to hear from the breast clinic... Hoping to hear soon...

Hi, I  have an appointment for 22nd December and I seen the doctor on 18th November so about 5 weeks wait so hopefully you hear soon. I am in Lanarkshire but when I spoke to the clinic they told me that a lot if areas in Glasgow/ Lanarkshire and Central Scotland can be up to a 10 week wait just now. Not great when it is meant to be 2/3 weeks.

Thank you, I am worrying a bit but trying to remain positive and remind myself that it is more likely to be something like a cyst. Hope you hear soon at least so you know when it is and hope it goes well too

It's not easy not to worry, l think we all do when we have been given a referral to breast clinic. The waiting is the bit we would all like to do without the waiting time seems to differ depending on your area or hospital. When you get there they are really good and able to do any tests required which helps, rather than being sent off to wait for another appointment. I hope you hear soon try to keep busy and talk to your family or friends just talking can help.

 Thank you for taking the time to reply Ladies. I have manged to get an appointment for Tuesday, am really relieved about that but still really anxious, my anxiety has been through the roof. I have lost 4/5lb in a week with worry not eating/sleeping  but could do with losing a lot more if honest. I hope your appointment goes well 22nd. Little old me have you heard anything yet? xxx

No I haven't Glasgowlassy. Hope your appointment goes ok. Can I ask when you saw your gp? Did the clinic phone or write about your appointment?

I'm Glasgow too so was bracing myself to have to wait until the new year. Trying to not think too much about it, but it's hard as you say Alfieisaster.

Hi just little old me, 

I spoke to my GP on 23rd and had a face to face with my GP on the 26. The breast clinic received my referral on Monday but I have rang everyday to ask if my appointment has been made and they put through the appointment coordinator who told me I will hear in next couple of weeks on Tuesday but I rang asked to speak the coordinator again today and was eventually given an appointment over the phone. Where abouts in Glasgow are you?
