HPV HIGH GRADE (moderate) DYSKARYOSIS

I'm so full of fear right now I had a smear test 6 weeks ago, I never received my results but on Thursday evening I receive an email to say an appointment had been made for the colposcopy clinic for Tuesday. I just could help thinking the worst. I managed to get through to the colposcopy department and they had a nurse call me back to explain my results, she said I had tested positive for hpv an high grade moderate dyskaryosis. She explained I will go to my appointment have a chat, they will have a look and decide the best course of treatment. Right now in my head it's already gone too far and turned cancerous. I had a normal smear test 3.5 years ago. Can anyone share there experiences good or bad so I know what to expect.

  • Hi.  I had the same. Chance of getting a cancer is less than winning a million so dont stress over it. Most of the people have hpv. You can get pregnant, have healthy pregnancy, healthy baby. Dont worry. It will come out fine. Mine was monitored every 6 months and its all fine after a baby.

  • Thanks for your responses, I have two children and definitely don't plan on having anymore. My heads just all over the place although I'm feeling abit more positive today. Fingers crossed everything is fine. I will update you all on Tuesday with how it went.

  • It's an awful feeling isn't it, I had such a shock when I opened the letter. What's helping me a bit is the more people I speak to the more I hear how many others have/know of others who have had the same and have had cells removed and been fine since. I keep reminding myself of this when the panic starts to set in.
The thought of any treatment isn't bothering me it's the thought of them finding the worst.
Yes, please update us Tuesday, I would really appreciate it and it would really help others I'm sure. Xx
