How long did you wait?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping tonget an idea of the wait times for breast clinic please. My Dr referred me saying that she hopes I would be seen within 2 weeks but the wait time may be a little longer, that was nearly 4 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything yet. I have tried ringing the breast clinic but nobody has got back to me, I plan to ring my Dr on Monday but I'm just wondering if anyone from South wales has experienced long wait times? 

I think the wait is driving me completely mad because I've already had cervical cancer and when i saw the Dr her language want very positive.  I'm looking to go private but I'm not exactly in the position that I can easily afford it, so I don't want to jump into it if an appointment could be around the corner.

    Hi Jen,

    I am in Wales too but was seen very quickly. I would call your doctor and ask them to chase it up for you. If you can afford to get your tests private, you can do that and then get referred back to the NHS. Good luck.

    Hi thank you for your reply, I am going to phone the Drs on Monday but i didn't want to be a pest ringing if waiting this long is normal.

    Trying to speak to someone about this has been  practically impossible!! After leaving messages with loads of different people and speaking to my Drs several times I finally managed to speak to someone today and now I'm feeling more lost than I was. 

    The breast clinic nurse told me that is going to be a minimum 8 week wait, I told her I was referred as an urgent case and she replied yes that is the time for urgent cases because of covid..... I'm so angry right now and I'm not sure how I'm possibly going to have a happy smiley family Christmas when I feel like crying or screaming most of the time. 8 weeks just seems like a ridiculous amount of time to wait
