Lump out of Nowhere!

Evening,

I had an examination and ultrasound on both my breasts on 28th September. This was following me reporting to my doctor that I was experiencing pain in both my boobs.

The doctor could only feel lumps in my right breast. These were confirmed as multiple cysts by the radiologist.

Tonight I have felt a huge lump on my left breast. It feels prominent, even my husband can feel it. Nothing was picked up in my left breast at the examination.

My questions are;  are they likely to see me again after just 8 weeks since my last examination? Is it normal to get lumps grow this quickly?

My doctors make me feel like a hypercondriact, but I am genuinely more concerned about this lump more than the pain I felt in September. It's hard and oval shaped, doesn't feel like a pea.

I'm 39 years old.

  • Hi there,

You sound like I used to be with breast cysts. I've had similar to what you're describing and mine were large cysts which I had drained. However ANY lump should be investigated. You are not a nuisance or hypochondriac and are entitled to be concerned about your health, so get onto your doctor's and make an appt. Good luck x

  • Hi Jane,

Thank you very much for your support. I have made a note of the lump in today's calendar. If my dates are correct, I am due on in 2 days. Would you wait until your period is over just in case this is a hormonal thing? x
