Change in lump

I found a lump just over a week ago and have been referred to the breast clinic.

My appointment is tomorrow but 2 things are concerning me: initially the lump was oval and smooth. Today it feels more bumpy like the surface of a golf ball.

Secondly, my daughter has covid and I'm waiting to hear if I can go to my appointment - I am fully vaccinated.

Grateful for any replies.

    Hi Tabs,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

If you feel that your lump is changing, then it is just as well that you have an appointment at the breast clinic tomorrow. If your daughtr is living with you still, or if you have been in contact with her recently, you should be isolating. Phone the clinic and see what they advise.

I hope that you can be seen soon, as this is always an anxious wait. It is a known fact that only 1 person in every 8 attending the breast clinic will receive a cancer diagnosis, so here's hoping that you get good news. Not all lumps are cancerous. Many are due to benign cysts, hormonal or fibrous changes.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thanks for your reply. Current guidelines state that you do not need to isolate if you have been double vaccinated but I'm anxious that the hospital may have different rules hence my post.
