Hi I too am 34. And going through something similar. I've been having armpit tenderness in my left arm pit and also the area at the side of my boob/towards armpit (basically where your bra band goes) feels/looks more swollen than the other side. I also every so often get a burning pain across top of boob. I had a feel but couldn't feel any lumps but the doctor said she could feel a thickening in the side bit which I thought was more swollen. I've had a good poke about but not sure I can feel anything where she did. Although this area now seems sore to touch (kinda like something has been rubbing the skin there). Anyway she has referred me but like you I am very anxious about what it could be.

A very warm welcome to our forum. I just wanted to let you know that not all lumps are cancerous. Many are benign cysts, hormonal or fibrous changes. It is a known fact that only 1 person in every 8 referred to the breast clinic will receive a cancer diagnosis. The younger you are the less likely this is to happen. Many women also have naturally lumpy breasts.

The area will probably feel sore to touch because, like most of us, you probably keep feeling it now. It is unusual to have pain accompany breast cancer at diagnosis, so here's hoping that all turns out well for you.
