HPV and Low-grade dyskaryosis

Hi Guys

I have just received a letter confirming I have HPV and Low-grade dyskaryosis. I am going for a colposcopy. I was just wondering how the procedure was etc...

I am also worried sick, I have lower abdominal pain and I think a UTI, not diagnosed. I had excruciating pain a few weeks ago after sex, but I just had put that down to having the coil fitted a couple of months back.

But you google these things and it's terrifying, I know you shouldn't google but it's natural!!!

Any words of wisdom or advice would be much appreciated

  • Thank you i defo worried less after your message.

Im sure yours will all be fine hpfully you dont have to wait to long.I will worry again in 12 mths no dout but its just anxiety for you isnt it but yes like you say we just need to go when were asked thats the while point of smears isnt it.

It is its the what if isnt it but the way the nurses expalin and reasure helps alot.

Take care hun and keep in touch xx

  • Hi hun,

This is why i wanted to post to reasure others as this site helped me alot i was worrying so much as well.

I know its hard but try not to worry as low grad is the smallest changes  and as they nurse explained to me its not cancer its pre cancer and if your always u to date with your smears your be fine they will treat if needed before they have change to turn nasty.

Ive never missed a smear either and always been fine but they started tested for hpv in 2019 didnt they where as before it was only tested for it you had abnomal results so i tested postive in 2019 but cells where normal then had a yearly smear 2020 which came back hpv but normal cells then this one 2021 was the one that came back with mild changes like yours and they say these can go back to normal by themselves but even if they dont in 12 mths time they would just give treatmeant.

So try not to worry and it is just like having a smear it didnt hurt just abit uncomfatable i didnt feel anything when they put the dye in at all.

Good luck for friday let me know how it gos

  • Hello my lovelies

today I went for my check at the hospital

the nurse was so lovely she told me everything looked normal but there was the most tiniest cell change on one of my cells to the point she said it that small she couldn't even biopsy on it,

I did have a biopsy on the Tissue around my cell change and got wait 8 weeks, she said there nothing to worry about and was so polite she made me feel at ease,

I'm so glad everything else looks normal and not a major course of concern I can now relax 4 weeks of stressing

thank god for smears I say.
she said I might have to return in 12 months which I rather do that to be honest to make sure all my cervix are healthy and looking how they should,

thanks ladies for all the reassurance and support on this page ️ ️ ️

  • Hi,

Thats great news! Its such a relief isnt it. Im the same its not pleasant all the check ups etc, but if it keeps us healthy then they can check as much as necessary. The nurses are lovely aren't they, they must know how much we are stressing at appointments like that. You can definitely have a much deserved relax now. Take care xx

  • Hi guys,

I have received my letter from my gp that my results show I have HPV & Low Grade dyskaryosis. I am 42, single & no kids. They tested for abnormal cells. I will be going for my colposcopy in March this year. I'm also worried & stressed about it. Always thinking very negative. I need reassurance ladies.

  • Hey babe

    please don't worry

low grade is a very slight change in the cell this is not cancer so please don't worry, I went for my hospital appointment on Friday and my cells were normal expect one tiny cell change which it was that tiny she couldn't even do a biopsy on it, so what she done is took the skin around the cell to check,

please don't stress I know it scary having results like this but women in their life time will develop the HPV virus which cause a slight cel change, their always treatment for anything they find.

hope I reassured you slightly xxx

  • Hi hunni,

I thought I have caught the infection last year when I was with a guy. Is it normal to have this condition? Also I am very worried I won't able to have children also thanks for pointing that out my lovely. Xx

  • HPV is a virus babe. HPV every woman who has been sexual active will come across it your body immune system will fight the virus off yourself has there isn't any cure for it, it doesn't effect fertlity women don't even know they got it had it has no symptoms.
honestly babe do not worry I had the same results has you and the nurses reassured me everything was normal and HPV is a very common virus xxx

  • Okay darling, thanks for the advice. It's me I am getting old & haggard lol ... I have been doing research, read about it. I have been getting a slight pain on my right leg recently. Just comes & go. I also been constipated nearly everyday. Needs to drink more xx
