Transactional ultrasound

Hi everyone

I am 24 (closer to 25) and have just come home after having a transvaginal ultrasound. I was referred after having my periods be irregular for a little while (last period lasting 3 weeks) after them being very regular my whole period life.

The lady doing the scan said there was nothing wrong "as such" - she mentioned the lining being thicker and my ovaries appearing polycystic. She said to make an appointment with my GP tomorrow to discuss the results - I'm just a bit confused why she would say nothing wrong "as such" but then list these things and have to see my gp?

Anyone had a similar experience?

thanks!

  • Hello CLR97

I'm sorry that you've recnetly had some health concerns. I can see that since you posted this message that you've posted again to say that you've been in touch with your GP surgery and that although the GP wants to speak with you about the results, it's not urgent.

It's understandable that you're still feeling anxious about the results but hopefully the fact that there is nothing urgent the GP needs to speak with you about has given you some reassurance.

I hope that you're able to make an appointment to talk things through with the Dr soon and that whatever the problem, things are resolved for you quickly.

    Best wishes,
