Concerned

Morning,

I feel a bit like a fraud posting on here when I don't know what is actually wrong with me but I'm struggling to express my worries with my family.

I was feeling very low, brain fog and emotional.  I am also suffering with pins and needles so went to my GP for a blood test.  He was brilliant and ordered a full blood test of everything and I had a fasting blood test done.

The results came back that I needed to speak with the dr.

In the rush of a phone call he said the results were abnormal, low iron, low folate and low vitamin D.  He mentioned 1 more thing but my brain was whirling from information that I missed what he said and then wanted to discuss family history and used the scary c word.  He has booked urgent appointment for an ultrasound a FIT test plus a physical exam.
I tried to speak to the gp surgery again to go through the results of blood test again so I could get my head around it but I was told that the dr would call me back and action all tests and she was not able to talk through then with me.

This has worried me further!
Has anyone had anything similar or any advise welcomed.

  • A warm welcome to the forum WorriedMumof2boys although I'm sorry to read what's troubling you.

It's a shame you haven't been able to speak with your doctor again since you found out your results but hopefully it won't be long before they're back in touch and you can get your questions answered.

I hope you hear back from some of our members who have been in a similar situation soon but in the meantime I wanted to wish you good luck with your upcoming tests. I know it can be scary when the words urgent referral are mentioned but I hope this information we have on our website will help put your mind at ease.

    All the best,

  • As your worrying as we all would be, l would contact the surgery and ask for a appointment with your doctor so the results can be explained to you. After all you are only asking for a telephone call to put you in the picture of what to expect next.

  • Thank you for replying.

I have made an appointment and written a list of my questions. I'm hoping to understand the what's and remain focused on going into this with my eyes and ears open.
