A very warm welcome to our forum. It is a common occurrence to be recalled after your first routine mammogram, as there is nothing to compare the findings to. It is also normal to see your consultant (who is also a surgeon) when you go back to get your results. Try not to overthink things. This happens regardless of the outcome. During Covid, some surgeons have been giving results over the phone or by letter, but most prefer to give them to the patient face-to-face.

You go to both appointments. The chances are that one will follow on from the other. This is always an anxious time. Try to remind yourself that "it isn't cancer until you're told that it's cancer". There are other reasons for breast lumps. Many get benign cysts, hormonal/fibrous changes. Only 1 person in every 8 attending the breast care clinic gets a cancer diagnosis and breast cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. I have had 2 bouts in the past 12 years, yet I still lead a busy and fulfilled life.
