Lump in left breast

Morning all

My first post, I found a lump on Tuesday in my left lower breast. The lump is hard, I can't really decide if it moves or not?!? When I am stood up right it feels quite small and pea like, but when I lay down and feel it, it feels a lot bigger more grape like. Initially it didn't hurt but aches now but wonder if that is where I am constantly poking it.
I was seen by my GP Wednesday and she referred me to the breast clinic at Medway. I finally got my code yesterday (Saturday) to register for an appointment for it to show none available so have to wait until tomorrow to call and book one.
Does anyone know how the two week wait works? Is it from referral date or when I call to book the appointment?
I keep honking about going private as I am driving myself and my poor husband and friends mad with not being able to rationalise anything.
I have questioned every ache and pain I have had and thought now is it linked and could it have spread if it cancer, I honestly feel like I am going mad.
my mum had breast cancer when she was 50 and has been clear now or 20 years thankfully. So this adds to my worry.
Sorry so much waffling

xx

  • Hi Char I share your anxiety I had pain in my left breast for a few weeks now came and went but noticed it more often so went to doctors Thursday morning she found a lump in the other  breast !! I can't feel it but my breasts are now tender from examination and me trying to find lumps ! I'm 56 the Gp only has my 2014 mammogram which was my first one on the system ??!! I have had two since I think but can't remember exactly as the last couple of years has been stressful as lost my husband two years ago so everything is foggy ! I have the two week leaflet but I don't know if they call or write ? I am feeling pain now everywhere but think I'm just hyper alert ! I have a 15 yr old autistic child she needs me and I'm terrified I won't be there for her - one minute I'm calm the next just in tears so so scared ! I also would like to know more about the booking as I need a date to focus on ! Good luck Char x
