Post LLETZ Treatment for CIN3 cells symptoms have returned

I had LLETZ in the first week of September and was referred back to my gp for smear in 6 months.

the last few weeks my bloating has come back shooting pains inside and down right side of thigh and back pain is really bad and I've had the full feeling back again, painful intercourse also and now the past 4 days I've got constipation again feels like my cervix is inflamed again like before and it's causing reoccurring blockage. When I lift my tight leg I can feel a build up down below going into my thigh area?

I have gynaecologist on Monday I am going to ask her to take a look but just wondered if it's possible for it to be reoccurrence of the cin3 cells or something else and if anyone else has had this issue before and recurring so soon after having them removed.

Thankyou :)

  • Hi sophie_21,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these symptoms again - I'm glad you have an appointment booked in for today. Hopefully this will be helpful in getting some reassurance, answers or next steps. Meanwhile if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

I hope it all goes OK today. Wishing you all the best,

  • Thankyou, I have had a diagnosis of definite adenomyosis and possible endometriosis. I recently came off my contraceptive pill due to it causing migraines and all me symptoms reappears about a week later and have worsened since. I didn't think it would be connected but it is as the progesterone was helping ease my condition symptoms, I am having the implant back in to see if that helps.

Good news is my cervix looks health since having LLETZ treatment and she said they did take more than usual as she was sure it was quite invasive and she was right to do so as all the tissue has cin3 cells but she's confident I am ok to wait until February for my smear. I know the condition isn't easy but I'm feeling positive as it's not life threatening and I think I should see myself as lucky.
