Help please smear test support

Hello 

Thank you for reading this as am not sure what's going on. I went for a smear and a Mirena fitting today after years of heavy bleeding ( I have fibroids ) 

The nurse couldn't fit the coil or do the smear as she said there was skin blocking the entrance to my cervix. Something she had never seen before. 
 

next thing I know I am on the. 2ww pathway and am terrified as to what is going on ! Had two calls from the doctors saying they are pushing the appointment through as soon as possible but no one will tell me what they think the problem is. 
 

I don't suppose anyone can help ? Am going out of my mind ...

    I'm sorry to hear that your recent cervical smear test has resulted in you being referred to see a specialist. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious and worried about what these changes may be. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and the Gynaecologist will be able to give you some answers and reassurance on the day. 

    We know that waiting for appointments and tests can be a really difficult time for many people. It can often help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat with one of our team of nurses.
