Found a small lump on my breast & doctor has referred me.

Hi Guys.

Guys, so I found a really small lump on my left breast on Sunday, called the doctor 1st thing on Monday and thankfully was able to get an appointment today. She examined me and said that she was going to refer me to the breast clinic. my heart dropped. I walked out and burst into tears. It's been several hours now and I’ve calmed down a bit but I'm so scared. I was told that I would get a response for my appointment within 2-4 weeks which is crazy. I have in the meantime got in contact with several health insurance companies and will be taking out a policy to get my screening faster. I have breast implants and I'm really scared as to what to expect from the procedure. All i have been doing since my appointmnet is googling every possibility. I just want someone to tell me it's just a homonal lump and that all is well, i mean dont we all. I'm really scared.

Any advise would be really helpful.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a breast lump. You did exactly the right thing in seeing your GP and hopefully you won't have to wait too long now for an appointment with the Consultant. 

    We know that many people find this period of waiting for appointments to be particularly difficult. It's natural to be anxious about things. Try to keep in mind that the vast majority of people seen at a breast clinic are not diagnosed with cancer. 

    In the meantime, you may find it helpful to chat things through with one of our team of nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support that they can ahead of your appointment. IF you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Hi Jenn 

    Thank you so much for getting in touch. 

    I had me screening and it turns outs that it was a cyst. 

    They did however find a papilloma on the right side that they would like me to get biopsied. 

    They said that it was nothing to worry about but I'm still slightly scared. 

    I'm also worried about the procedure. 

    Trying to keep calm adn positive.
