Advice please, 28 year old male worried sick

Hi All,

I'm looking for advice and maybe if anyone else has been going or been through this and what was the outcome?

I'm I'm 28 year old male. I'm really worried I may have something wrong with my pancreas. After going to the doctors today I was sent for an x-ray the same day. This has been ongoing Over the last 6 months. First it started with the odd niggle and pain when I was eating foods I had always been eating but stated to feel like I was really full and bloated with a really bad stomach and straight to the toilet. Then foods just went through me with anything I ate that was fatty and found my stomach would be very tender after food and when standing lying down and walking unless leaning forward that was the only way I would get relief from the pain . It would take me at least two hours to eat a small meal. Since the middle of October  I get constant dull ache in the left side of my ribs thought it felt like my lung as thats what I've always thought it was untill today and heard it may be pancreas. The pain radiates from under my rubs and towards my back just left of my spine or so it feels but I'm now even more worried what it may be. Since October I haven't been able to walk for more than 15 minutes without having to sit down due to the pain that goes from the bottom of my left side back and to shoulder. On times send needles down my arms and legs where I feel weak to stand. Gp sending  me to physio as apparently it's them who now deal with back problems but I'm not really sure. I have a lump infont of my left ear soft painless, lump in my neck left side solid and unmovable. Both been there for over 3 years although never worried as doctor always told me it was normal. Ive gone from being 10st 4lb to 8st 9lb in about 4 months I was originally 13st.9lb but lost that over year and half. I eat less and less food as I don't have the appetite or when I do eat ill start to feel sick and have to stop. But now I'm worrying more as this pain over the last six months is getting worse and worse. Stupidly looking at Google for X-ray reliability and if they can detect such things that deep with out ct or mri but reading doesn't give any comfort.

I'm so sorry for babbling on but I'm not sure where to ask for this and I'm sorry my post is all over the place. Very anxious with this as my partner has just gotten over cancer and his brother just died of the same cancer. So my anxiety is through the roof worrying if I'm next. 80% of my family has had some kind of cance over the years so its common in my family and again Google makes everything worse.

Thanks you for reading and again sorry for the long post.

  • Hello Ojones92

I'm sorry to hear that you have some ongoing health concerns. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious particularly as your partner has just been through his own cancer journey. Hopefully the tests and referral that your GP is arranging will bring some answers and reassurance.

We know that many people search Google looking for answers. Unfortunately what happens in most instances is that people are left without accurate information and feeling much more anxious than they did beforehand. Please try to avoid looking online for information. If you want to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to try and offer any information and support that they can.

I do hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
