Mole Removal

Hello - I am due to have a couple of moles removed in a couple of weeks following a dermatologist appointment due to them being suspicious. Mole on my shoulder blade is just over 1cm wide, he said he will do an ellipse excision and the scar line will be quite big so he can take enough out around it. I can assume with the stitches it may feel tight but thinking ahead I was wondering if anyone has had one removed from same area and what recovery was like movement wise etc for work/driving/looking after kids? Thanks :)

  • Hello Summcld

I've had a look through the forum and I can't see that we've anyone who has mentioned having an ellipse excision on their shoulder. Hopefully if we do have any members who have had this procedure they will post to share their experiences with you.

From what you've mentioned I would imagine that you'll have some restrictions whilst things heal but the best people to speak to would be your Consultant or nurse specialist if you have one. You could give them a call and leave a message asking if you can have some advice ahead of your procedure so that you can plan ahead regarding work, childcare etc.

I hope that things go smoothly with the removal and healing and that the results bring some reassuring news.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you for having a search - I asked at the time about afterwards but they simply said I would need a follow up to have stitches removed.

I am sure it will be fine :)
