Thank you for visiting my post. I'm a 26 year old male. I've been having lots of symptoms pointing towards Colorectal cancer. It started on the 28/11/2021. It started with vomiting on that night. The following night I had really bad diarrhea where I had to go to the toilet about 14 times. It continued next day and I would say both the diarrhea and vomiting stopped in 2 days. However I've then started having the following symptoms up until today. I'll explain my symptoms below:
1. Shortness of breath, it's especially bad when lying down flat. It's also there throughout the day when I'm doing minimal tasks.
2. I have narrow stools, and I haven't had normal stools for about 6 weeks now. Sometimes I have bigger hard stools. When I used laxatives a few times my stool had been looser.
3. My dry cough has got progressively worse. It comes on randomly and I don't have any other symptoms of fever or cold.
4. I have left sided chest pain which is sometimes felt in on my left sided shoulders and arms.
5. My bowel habits hasn't improved, Infact I now have very narrow stools. I also get bigger stools.
6. My rectal pain has got worse. This seems to really worry me because I've never had anything like this before.
7. Abdominal pain is still there, perhaps a little less painful and often than it was initially.
8. I have lightheadedness without doing anything
9. I have very visible bloating
10. My main concern of all is that now I can visually and clearly see blood in my stool. I can see bright red blood mixed in my stool. I feel like after passing stool the toilet water becomes darker, is this sign of blood in stool? It didn't use to happen before. I've also had dark tarry stools of late.
I have had a couple of tests done. I have had a FIT test which I did myself and it came back clear. I've had 2 faeces test done (Calproctin) to test for inflammation and it came back clear. I've had a blood test and apparently it's normal except that they want me to do another one in 4 weeks from the last one to check my total red blood cell count. I have a ECG booked in for the chest pain. I'm a bit worried as I'm only seeing blood recently and therefore worried it could have been missed out on the last faeces test I did weeks ago.
I want my GP to refer me to a gastroenterologist to have this checked. I want her to ask for a colonoscopy or atleast a CT scan to check for any abnormalities. I want to ask anyone here if they had similar symptoms and whether the diagnosis was infact cancer. Hope to hear from you lovely people soon and thank you for reading this extra long post.
