19mm thickness/fibroid/pain in left ovary

Hello there

I had a scan on Saturday. Results came back today. During the scan it revealed 19mm thickness and a fibroid.

I have a low dull ache and now a stabbing pain in my left side (ovary area).

I rang for an appointment with the GP and they gave me 30th November to discuss the results.

if it was anything serious they would have scheduled an urgent one wouldn't they???

any opinions welcome

How old are you ? If pre menopausal then womb thickness can be thick depemding on times of your cycle, 19mm for someone still having periods is ok, and fibroids are common unfortunately espeically in yours 30s :)

Hi there

thank you for replying. I'm 57 :( and nearly out of my menopause I havnt had any form of bleeding for a long time apart from during sex.

Try not to worry about the fibroid too much they are common and easy to remove hopefully it doesnt cause too much pain while you are waiting for it to be removed x Have you heard of Simple Endometrial Hyperplasia ? It causes the womb to be thicker and can cause bleeding after sex , It happens to alot of women in their 50s
