Hello All,

In September I had a Colposcopy, biopsy and an Ultrasound due to irregular bleeding and pain. Oct 20th I had a letter to say it had all come back clear and I was now discharged. 
 

Today the hospital called to say they needed me to come in for an appointment with a gynaecologist. I told them I thought there had been a mistake because I'd already had my examinations and received a letter to say I was discharged. She said she would check and then came back and said  'My mistake, it's not the gynaecologist, it is the consultant who did the procedure - she wants to see you'. I said I didn't understand why because my letter had said it was fine and I asked do they still give appointments as a follow-up? She said she didn't actually work in that dept and asked if I was able to come in next week.

My question is, for anyone who has had a letter giving the all clear, do they still arrange a follow-up appointment? I am thinking maybe they need to see if I've recovered properly from the colposcopy? I would be grateful if anyone who has had a discharge/clear results letter could let me know their experience
