About a year ago my periods changed to heavier abd longer. Doctor sent me for a scan and a uterine polyp was gound. Whilst waiting for a hysterectomy ( king time due to covid ) I told my doctor that the blood was different from a normal period. Much brighter, like it was coming for somewhere else. It wax 4 and a half years since my last smear so he told me to book one 'to make sure not cervix'. Two weeks later I got a text to say it had been discarded as I was four months before my five year. Had my polyp removed, and hiding behind it is a small submusocal fibroid that could not be removed as too far in lining. That was in April. I continued to have crazy monthly bleeds lasting at least two weeks. Last one was in August and I've been light bleeding g most days since. Sent for another scan, which showed the fibroid , thickened lining, and no follicles on ovaries, so I've very suddenly, amongst all this, gone into menopause. I bled after internal scan which has never happened before. Amongst all this, and after two more failed attempts to get a smear, I eventually had one a month or so ago. Have had a letter to say HPV positive and borderline abnormal cells. As well as the now nearly daily bleeding I also have lower back pain some days and mild pelvic pain. I have an urgent colposcopy this week. Im so cross with myself that I didn't battle even harder for my cervix to be looked at when this all started and feel sure it's not going to be very advanced as a result. Im so sorry to off load here, I don't want to burden those I love until I know exactly where I am.
