Waiting for biopsy

Hi, I have had discharge from my left nipple for a year. I had a biopsy that came back all clear. Then fobbed off about the discharge. I persisted and was listened to finally and sent for an MRI. They've told me they've found a lump they couldn't see previously on ultrasounds and that they are booking me in for a biopsy. It may be a papilloma and they have said they will operate to remove. I'm concerned it may be cancer. I am waiting for my biopsy appointment. I don't know why but I forgot to tell the consultant or any doctor I've seen that I have shooting pains in my left arm pit every couple of days. Is it worth me contacting them in the meantime or is this not an issue? Thank you

  • Hi Victoria,

I am glad to hear that you persisted and hope that this is just a pappiloma. It is certainly worth telling your consultant about the shooting pains in your armpit. However, you can tell your consultant when you're having your biopsy done, as this should be quite soon. You shouldn't need to contact your consultant before that.

I hope that it all goes well. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
