Cancer worries

Hello,

I am looking for some advice if possible. I haven't fell "well" for just over a year. It started last November with swollen nodes, difficulty swallowing and pain in the upper right quadrant. I had a barium swallow, pelvic ultrasound, neck ultrasound, endosocpy and lots of bloods etc. Everything checked out normal.  Since then the pain seems to have moved to my lower right quadrant, feels like inside my hip qnd pain just under my belly button.  I have had a trans vaginal ultra sound kidney and bladder ultrasound sound. Qll seemed OK again.  Recently my liver function tests have been out of sorts, trace blood in urine and protein.  I am still experiencing pain, constant pain that is eased by sitting or going to bed, I have a ct of the abdomen coming up in 2 weeks time and possibly a colnoscopy depending on the out come. I have a fatty deposit on my upper left quadrant that is very noticable too  I suffer with extreme health anxiety due to our local trust missing my mums brain tumour on mri 8 years ago and any pain triggers me.

Has anyone had any similar symptoms or can point me in the right direction for further tests. I held self funded all of them so far because I just dreadful it being a terrible outcome and it's been left so long. It breaks my heart thinking I won't see my baby girl grow up. I am 37 and female, overweight and not very active!

I understand this forum is predominantly for people that have been diagnosed I jusy don't know which way to turn next. I'm sick of being fobbed off with " you're too young"

Thank you for reading

  • Hello Amie84,

I hope your CT scan of the abdomen goes well. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard especially as you suffer from health anxiety but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. Focus on your baby girl who I am sure keeps you on your toes and try to chase those negative thoughts away if you can as there are so many things it could be that are not cancer. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
