Inflammatory breast cancer?? Advice needed

Hi I've had some pretty odd breast issues over the past 7-8 weeks and I need some advise. I have been to the gp had steroid cream mild and medium and antibiotics he referred me to the breast clinic. 1st appointment I was given thrush cream and told if it wasn't gone I'd need a biopsy in 2 weeks. 2nd appointment a different consultant looked at my breast and told me I had excema even though the rash had doubled in size since my 1st breast clinic appointment and I told her how painful it is at times. I haven't had an ultrasound or mammogram. Obviously I've consulted dr google (I know I shouldn't) and there are so many story's of women being told they had excema and it turned out to be inflammatory breast cancer. I left the breast clinic happy but I've gradually been regretting not asking for a biopsy any way I'm seriously thinking of going private so I can get a bit of reassurance! Has anyone had similar? TIA

  • Hello Footballmumof4,

Dr Google you are right is definitely not a reliable doctor and will always bring up the worst case scenario so try not to dwell on what you have read on Google. You have consulted some real specialists who I think will have more expertise than Google but if you are still worried, it might be worth seeking another opinion and hopefully this will give you the reassurance you need.

I hope that you will hear from some of our other members who have been in a similar position or who have in the past considered going private and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,

  • If the cream makes no difference then I would contact breast clinic and ask to be seen again. Dr google can give you worries that you don't need they are all for sensationalism and fancy articles not necessarily the true picture. If you have excema you can see dermatology for treatment.
