Been to clinic

Hi, I had my clinic appointment finally.

Got a mammogram, check, ultrasound, core needle biopsy and another mammogram all very quickly.

After the surgeon came in and told me I had a score of 4 out of 5 on their scale, to be honest I didn't really take much in after that, something about results then and MRI.

After she went a macmillan nurse came in to speak to me and gave me their phone number.

It's freaked me out a lot! I'm presuming 4 out of 5 is pretty bad and the macmillan nurse being assigned to me backed that feeling up.

  • Hi Porcha,

I know this must be scary but I hope this information I've found on Breast Cancer Now about the tests you've had and what the scores mean will help make things clearer and easier to understand.

If there is anything you're unsure of then do give our friendly and informative team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to help.

Many of our members have been through this process so hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

Wishing you all the best with your results when they come through Porcha.

    Kind regards,
