Ovarian Cancer Worries

I am a 23 year old single mum at the beginning of the year I had a ruptured ovarian cyst and was told that everything was fine but all year I have suffered from reflux, IBS like symptoms and weight gain.

I recently had a CA125 done and that was normal and I have recently had an ultrasound showing 2 cysts on my left ovary and I'm honestly petrified that it is something sinister, ive got another scan in 7 weeks as a follow up.

Any one have any advice or gone through a similar thing and the results were ok?

  • Hello worriedmum5,

It's reassuring that your CA125 was normal and I can understand why you are worried after these two cysts were discovered on your left ovary but try not to worry too much as it may not be anything sinister and there are so many other things these cysts could be. 7 weeks is a long time to have to wait for your scan and I can imagine you will be feeling really anxious while waiting to get some answers.

There are some helpful tips on this page on how to cope while waiting for important news. I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
