I just wanted to check in and say you are not alone.

I had a mammogram, ultra sound and biopies and was told that they are highly suspicious I have cancer. This was at my breast clinic appointment on Friday 5th November and I now am waiting for the reults.

It is an incredibly stressful time isn't it? I spent the first couple of days stupid Googling what might happen but have calmed down a little and am taking one day at at time.

When is your results appointment? 

I wish that i had recorded or written down what the consultant said as i am struggling to remember now and I feel like my anxious mind might be distorting the memory! I fluctate between feeling like I am being overdramatic and then being more realistic. I like to know what's going on- when I was pregnant I obsessively watching One Born Every Minute so that I would be 'prepared' for birth lol. Not sure what preparation I can do for breast cancer- there seem to be so many different types and treatments etc.

They said my results appointment would be 2 weeks or earlier if they get the results but I don't think they have given me a date.

It is so hard to take in what they are saying so maybe they gave me a date and I have forgotten! Lol. I will call if I have not heard anything in 10 days.

I am exactly the same - I go from being really upset and anxious about how bad the results are going to be to being ok for a few hours. I think lots of people agree that the waiting is the hardest part as you have no control.

I think to prepare all you can do is try to look after your mental health. I have been going for a walk every day which definitely seems to help.

Hope you are both doing ok. I am also waiting on biopsy results. I had a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsies done where they found a mult-sepatated cyst and they also said they were not happy with what the mammogram showed in my other breast, asymmetry so this was all done on the 1st Nov. I had a metal marker inserted so they did another follow up mammogram to check its in place.

I have been feeling very anxious waiting for my results as the words, 'It might be cancer', 'pre-cancer' and 'DCIS' have all been used throughout my one stop clinic appointment.

Its very hard not to think about it all, I'm still working full time and I'm a single mum but struggling to sleep well and yes I have been googling a lot x

Nice to hear from you and sorry to hear you are going through this as well.

I have had a metal marker put in too.

It is really scary. I am lucky that I have the support of my husband so I can't imagine how hard it must be for you. I have a 4 year old and 9 month old baby and it really upsets me when I think about how it might affect them.

It's lovely to hear from you too. It is not easy at all, and I find it hard to talk about as although it is on my mind most of the time, its hard to explain the fear to others.

So sorry you are also going through this. I have a 9 year old son and 5 members of my family have had breast cancer and beaten it but its still a worry. Thats my worry as Mum how it affects my family if its bad news.

I got told I would hear within 3 weeks but then when I called up this week they said it will either be through an appointment or call. They said I have missed the cut off date for one of their meetings, think its a meeting where they meet to discuss patients results before they tell you.

Hope you are doing ok. I'm still having an anxious wait. I have been told they will be discussing my case during a Multi Disciplinary meeting this Wednesday.

I am not sure what to expect after that if I will sent a letter or given a phone to come in for my results? It feels very scary as I think it is very much 50/50.

Have you heard anything? Thinking of you both. The nights are the hardest trying to sleeping or I sleep and wake up in a panic in the middle of night xx

So my appointment is Wednesday at 2pm. The consultant booked me into her next clinic herself which is what concerned me. 

I have now had the clinic letter uploaded onto my medical record so I can see what she said at my first appointment and there are some areas of concern that that might be benign or they might be pre cancerous or cancerous. They have said that I am definitely going to have an MRI though

Not too much longer to wait now.
