my doctor has phoned me today and advised that my FIT test came back negative, but they would still like me to go for a colonoscopy as I'm still getting these symptoms. She said with a negative fit test that is a positive sign but you can never say never for it being bowel cancer. Her choice of words have sent my anxiety sky high! I'm so worried. This all started 5 weeks ago and I've not been right since then. She has advised she doesn't know how long the wait will be for my colonoscopy. I'm sitting here in major fear of the unknown and waiting.
Can anyone advise how long they waited? I was told I was under the urgent referral pathway and had the fit test within 4 days but this has been almost 2 weeks from the fit test and still not heard anything as of yet for an appointment for the colonoscopy. I'm so scared.
