I went to my gp about 10 days ago with pain in my armpit radiating to my breast. I was referred for breast screening and an X-ray. On Friday last week I had the X-ray and yesterday (Friday) I got a letter with a phone appointment with a consultant at the breast clinic. The appointment is on Tuesday - it was meant to be the end of the month but I phoned for an earlier one. 
 

This might sound silly but does this mean it's very likely the X-ray has shown something? Do X-rays only show cancer that has spread or would it show it if it still contained within breast tissue.

Or am I reading too much into it? Is an appointment with a consultant normal when referred to the breast clinic and they might not even have seen my X-rays yet? 
 

I'm 34 and have twins under one and im quite honestly terrified at this point.
