Hysteroscopy + biopsy results

Hello,

A little background - I am 32 years old with children & PCOS. After my 2nd child was born, I started to bleed quite heavy, I had polyps, they were removed and the biopsy was normal.

Afterwards, I continued to bleed heavily for weeks and months, doctors couldn't do anything to help so I gave up asking for help.

Last Aug, I had a final massive bleed & I was on public transport at the time.

I haven't bled since, so I decided to go to the doctor. The doctor was BRILLANT. He ordered a blood test for my hormones which came back standard for PCOS  he ordered a scan that showed a lining of 23mm. After reviewing my scan, he referred me under the 2ww for hysteroscopy.

The consultant found an endocervical polyp and confirmed my lining is very thick and she couldn't see a lot. She took biopsies. She wrote to me confirming what happened in the appointment and she will write to me about my biopsy results.

Today, I received a phone call asking to go in tomorrow. However, I have just tested positive for covid. They couldn't give me my results on the phone and I've to wait until the 17th.

Is this normal for normal results? My last biopsy in 2014 was other the phone.

Worried sick. Probably over nothing.

  • I don't know sorry, But I hope you have good news

I had my tests this week, including an ultrasound and biopsy... afterwards the specialist nurse did tell me that she could see both pre-cancerous and cancerous cells. I am now awaiting an MRI and my biopsy results!

    good luck x

  • Unfortunately, I didn't get good news. I need a CT scan and MRI to see if it's spread.

Hope everything is ok with you? X

  • Hi Klala. I understand you are extremely worried. I have been on a rollercoaster myself.

Did they tell you it was cancer or are they sending you for a ct and Mri to investigate further.

  • Hi Barneybear,

It's cancer. The CT and MRI is to see if it's spread.

    X

  • I am so sorry Klala you must be so worried as a mother of two and so young - life can be cruel.

It's going to be so hard on you waiting for the scans and then waiting for the results! Please try and keep hopeful and pray that it hasn't spread

I was sent for a scan before my results.  On Monday In the post I received a letter from Cervical Smear Dept. Stating that the result had come back and there was no cancer detected-I was really happy but also annoyed as I knew I had had a number of different elements to my testing and this impersonal test like letter did not even mention them... I got on the phone to advise that they were giving false hopes to people as I was awaiting results for endometrial and ovarian and someone who is less aware may have been overjoyed and then a few days later was told a few days later that they had cancer. Anyway it was lost on deaf ears.

on Monday afternoonI received a call from the hospital booking me in to see a Gynaecologist Oncologist Professor next Tuesday she would not give me any details of my results-I knee it was serious as it was the top man in our main hospital... my mind went into overdrive and I imagined all sorts... as you are all to aware Klala!

the next day I received a call from another hospital to sybthat they had discussed me in their MDT that morning and to schedule me an appointment to discuss surgery with their Consultant Gynaecologist-I asked for more information and she said that my results had shown PRE-Cancerous cells (Atypia Hyperplasia) and that the treatment recommended was a full hysterectomy. I went from fear to joy in that call. Having said that if my cells were cancerous and had not spread outside my uterus then I would still be facing the same treatment!

Let's just wish and hope that yours is contained Klala so that you have the best hope in the circumstances.

Do you have the support of anyone at home?

Thinking of you and sending you lots of positive energy and love. Amanda ️ ️
