Lymphoma or something else?

Good morning everybody, I'm beside myself with worry. Four years ago I've started with vomiting and diarrhoea. Having done an endoscopy they found I've got a hiatus hernia and h pylori. About a year ago symptoms started getting worse, I'm extremely tired, sleeping a lot, even falling asleep at the dinner table. At the same time I started having drenched night sweats which I took as being the menopause.

My blood tests have been indicating high inflammatory markers for one year and now low on folic acid. I also have an enlarged spleen on gp examination. Gp sent me to haematology through cancer pathway on suspicion of lymphoma. Haematology got back to gp saying I don't fit the criteria to be seen by them.

No gp is sending me to an ultrasound of the abdomen and offered me hrt for menopause symptoms which I don't have apart from the drenched sweats.

I'm really scared and worried and I can't understand why they wouldn't see me if gp was concerned. I haven't lost weight or appetite but I feel so weak and run down. I'm on antibiotics for h pylori for 3rd time in a year as infection doesn't clear up.

Any advice please? I can't afford the private otherwise would go down that route.

  • My dads lymphoma symptoms, were very bad pain in his back and stomach, enlarged spleen, itchy skin, night sweats.

he was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, he had 5months chemo and radiotherapy, he's now cancer free, and classed as cured, it's been 3yrs.

his initial diagnosis was via an MRI can, can you push for 1, pay private for 1 if you're in the position to be able to.

but It could all be linked to hernia and menopause, I hope it is and the HRT help x

  • Hi

Hop your dad is ok. I just wanted to know how your dad is doing after radiotherapy, what areas did he have radiotherapy and does he still have any side affects ie long term side effects
