New

hi everyone just Jules here

i am new here.i have been on beforehand on behalf of my mum who I lost recently . But this time it’s me.

i have been having blood in my pee on and off for a couple of years. I had a camera and a biopsy of the lining of my bladder but no cancer found. I was given Cysterstat for the inflamed lining which did nothing.

This time the blood started again and my GP insisted another camera was put in. They did that last week and have found an abnormality. They showed me a picture and it doesn’t look very friendly.

joking aside they told me it maybe cancer but I will have to have a further biopsy. Waiting for an appointment now and feeling in a daze. I wish my mum was still with us so I could talk it through with her.

Anyone have advice or anyone at the same stage as me.?

Kind regards to you all.

ps. I had a head injury years ago and can get confused I just hope I don’t annoy you with this x

  • Hello Julesstillhere

I'm so sorry to hear that you recently lost your Mum and now on top of dealing with your grief, you're facing your own potential cancer journey. It sounds like it's an incredibly difficult time for you at the moment and it's understandable that you may be feeling anxious and worried about things.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a difficult time. Often it can help to talk things through and I wonder as you don't have your lovely Mum if you might find it useful to chat with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support that they can ahead of your biopsy. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for the biopsy and whatever the results maybe, hopefully, the team will be able to give you some reassurance about things.

Keep in touch Juliesstillhere and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
