High CA125 markers

Hi,I've been trying to get a diagnosis for over 2 years now,pre pandemic. I had a cyst on one ovary 2 years ago with high CA125 markers. The gyno said it was nothing to worry about. Recently I've had more bleeding between periods so had another trans vaginal scan and bloods which came back with markers of 250. And plural cysts. I've had a letter today saying this is a concern and I need a face to face appointment to discuss this further but no appointment given.

I'm going out of my mind that it's cancer. I have a little boy and I'm terrified. Has anyone had high markers and cysts? I'm so scared.

  • Hello Lena123987

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some ongoing health concerns for quite some time now. It's understandable that you're feeling worried and anxious about what may be causing your symptoms and that you've now had a letter advising you that an appointment is needed to discuss things further. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for this appointment but do give the hospital a call if you don't hear from them within the next week or so. It may be that they're able to offer you a cancellation if you ring them.

In the meantime, I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat things through with one of our team of nurses. It can often help to talk to someone and I'm sure that our nurses will be happy to offer any advice and support that they can ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

CA125 levels can be raised by conditions other than cancer so for now try to take things a day at a time and stay as positive as you can until you know any different.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
