It's been nearly 2 weeks since I had my mole removed. I am so scared. In Covid times will you only get an appointment to see the consultant if it's bad news?

Hi Starstriker110 and welcome to the forum.
Waiting for results is always tough but you're not alone as many of our members have been where you are now and know how worrying and scary this time can be so I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.
Covid has had a huge impact on hospitals all across the UK and how one hospital/department gives results may be completely different to another part of the country so if you can try, not to over think or analyse this. Always easier said than done I know, but hopefully it won't be much longer now until your results come through.
Fingers crossed for good news Starstriker110.
Kind regards,

Thank you. I am trying to stay calm.
I rang yesterday and they said that the consultants are reviewing my results Friday and I'll then be called to attend an appointment next week.
I am even more worried now as I don't see why they would be reviewing my case if the results were ok and normal and I don't see why they would get me in just to say all was ok.
It's good to hear you're getting closer to finding out your results Starstriker and it sounds like they are going to be discussed in an MDT meeting. This is quite common and I hope our nurse's reply to another member who is in similar situation will help put your mind at ease.
Wishing you all the best for next week.
Kind regards,

Thank you for your help.
I have rang today to try to find out the outcome of the meeting on Friday.
All I have been told is that I need to see a consultant dermotologist at the next available appointment which I have been told is 16 November.
When I asked if someone could ring me to give me the results the secretary said that she would ask if the McMillan Nurse could ring me to give me the results. I am now petrified. Surely this now means that it is bad news?
I have just had a call to say that the mole did have melonoma in it. The Dermotolgy nurse said that there was nothing in the surrounding tissue and that it was a thin melonoma at 0.9mm.
I have to see the consultant soon and they will probably want to do a wider excision and a biosopsy on my lymph nodes but they sounded positive.
Do you think this is positive?
